In Central Oregon we are surrounded by volcanic rock. Lava tubes,  caves, and rock outcroppings remain today from long ago volcanic eruptions. The placement of rock in the landscape appears natural and, combining with plants, can create a perfect harmony. Rocks in the landscape often protect plants from Central Oregon's harsh elements, wind and cold temperatures.

The application of concrete pavers, driveways, walkways and decks can present challenging surfaces around which to design. Valorie is able to blend the living landscape with these man-made elements in pleasing ways to either emphasize or minimize their existence.
